For Miles & Miles

For Miles & Miles is a 2022 collaborative photo project with Miles Davitt, a New Zealand-based zinemaker and artist.

Using double-exposure photography techniques with the same roll of film mailed between one another, we captured scenes from our daily lives over an extended period, starting with Miles (NZ) and ending with Miles (NL). No further communication took place until the film was developed.

The photos depict two lives simultaneously. How can the lives of two people from opposite sides of the globe line up? Where do they separate entirely and become indecipherable noise? It is ultimately up to the viewer to decide which parts of the exposures are part of which artist’s reality.
